Call for Papers
EC2ND 2010 invites submissions presenting novel ideas in the areas of network defense, intrusion detection and systems security. Topics for submission include but are not limited to:
- Intrusion Detection
- Malicious Software
- Machine Learning for Security
- Web Security
- Peer-to-Peer and Grid Security
- Wireless and Mobile Security
- Network Forensics
- Network Discovery and Mapping
- Incident Response and Management
- Privacy Protection
- Cryptography
- Legal and Ethical Issues
EC2ND 2010 specifically encourages submissions presenting work at an early stage with the intention to act as a discussion forum for innovative security research. While our goal is to solicit ideas that are not completely worked out, and might have challenging and interesting open questions, we expect submissions to be supported by some evidence of feasibility or preliminary quantitative results.

Paper Submission
You are hereby invited to submit papers up to 6-8 pages, 8.5" x 11", two-column format. All submissions will be reviewed by the Program Committee. Authors of accepted papers will be given the option of including their paper in the proceedings of the conference, published through IEEE-CS.
Submissions must not substantially duplicate work that any of the authors has published elsewhere or has submitted in parallel to any other conference or workshop with proceedings. Authors of accepted papers must ensure that their papers will be presented at the conference.
This year the reviewing process of EC2ND is double blind. Please make sure your submission does not include author names and affiliations. The following are some guidelines for submitting double blind papers:
- Do not include any author name or affiliation in the title.
- Do not include any acknowledgments.
- Refer to your own published work in the third person.
Important Dates
- Paper submission deadline: July 9, 2010 (Extended)
- Paper acceptance or rejection: August 16, 2010
- Final paper camera ready copy: August 30, 2010
- Conference dates: October 28–29, 2010
